'Africa Fashion Weekend' - a two-day event at the Thomas Prior Hall in Ballsbridge, Dublin over Easter, showcased top African designers and up and coming designers who are keen to break into the European and international markets. The event was colourful, bold and put Africa on the map amongst the other famous fashion countries.

The two day event was hosted by the Creative Director Theo Omambala - Theo excelled for more than a decade as a top international model, gracing the world's catwalks of renowned designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Alexandra Mc Queen and Dolce Gabbana. She gained international status, appearing in editorials for fashion bibles such as English Vogue, Marie Claire and French Elle, in addition to various world wide TV adverts, from Nike, American Express to Fosters beer. AFRO-CHIQUE:Janice Morrison the founder of Afro-Chique graduated from Middlesex University with a distinction in Fashion and Textiles. Janice worked in various fashion roles within the fashion industry, this gave her the knowledge and experience to start her own label. In 2008 Afro-Chique was born. ERIC RAISINA: Born in Madagascar and resides in Paris, France. 
He graduated with a Masters from Institut Francais de la Mode in 1999. Eric has designed textiles for Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gautier and Christian Lacroix just to name a few. His work has been featured in top magazines such as Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Arise Magazine and supermodel Iman has graced the catwalks in Eric's designs.

BOT I LAM: is a new label- representing the funky fresh African continent. First launched at Adornment 2007 where musician Erykah Badu was an Ambassador. Subsequently took part in the Ghana 50 celebrations at the Victoria Albert Museum.It's created with ethical values. The purchase of materials and the creating are all done in Africa, so as to allow the direct benefice to the tailors.

Deenola is about going back to your roots and embracing your present through interesting African fabrics and contemporary silhouettes.Deenola philosophy was about creating a line that would be effortlessly elegant but very confortable to wear. Their first collection is called "Versatile" because of the different moods in every piece of the collection and the designs which were made to cater for all women.
